Reimagining the Future of Consumption Challenge

One major contributor to environmental degradation is consumer behavior. We need to make a significant change in our consumption attitudes and habits if we are to reach local and global climate goals. What changes are needed to make the future of consumption more sustainable?
To address this challenge, we need a creative approach to collaboration that can bring together diverse stakeholders and yield innovative solutions. Impact Lab platform is designed to do exactly that. It provides a platform for people from different backgrounds to come together, collaborate on their ideas and work on innovative solutions to various global challenges.

Ideation session
Sometimes, it is not easy to pinpoint a problem, or way too many of them to choose from. In other cases, one can simply lack the time to reflect on their experiences. We know that creating an idea could be a big task. To help our community members in this process, we decided to organize an ideation session. Combined with snacks!

Lunch ideation session
In the ideation session for the Future of Consumption, the focus was on the future of consumption on campus, in the city, and at home.

What is ‘ideation’?
We discussed how technology and financial incentives can be powerful tools to motivate people to change their consumption behavior.

How did it go?
We explored ways to make energy consumption more efficient at home and what governmental bodies can do to create an environment where people are encouraged to make smarter decisions about how they consume goods and services.

How did it end?
The discussion was particularly exciting, as it allowed us to explore possibilities and generate creative ideas. In the end, our ideation sessions are about looking around and getting inspired.
