Impact Lab Team

We are leading experts on collaborative innovation and challenge-driven co-creation. We bring together diverse members of a community to accelerate impactful solutions. Our work is based on original research we have translated into a set of tools that community members can use to empower themselves. Our team spends on average 35 hours facilitating the development of a challenge. Let us help you make the VU a better place to work, study, and connect!

How do we support you?

Guiding challenges
  • Through our transparent framework, we make it easy for everyone in the community to get involved.
    .
  • We assist Champions in making wise strategic choices: which issues to tackle, how to decide what is a “good” idea, etc.
    .
  • We provide written feedback that communicates your choices to your community.
    .
  • Our team co-hosts one (in-person or online) ‘brainstorm session’ with members of your community.
Tools for engagement
  • Everyone in the community gains access to a unique online collaboration platform (in partnership with InnovationCast).
    .
  • We provide templates for marketing and communication to encourage your community to get involved.
Monitoring contributions
  • We help to reach out to key stakeholder groups if they don’t contribute and monitor in real-time the contributions on the platform to ensure that interactions remain constructive.
    .
  • Co-creation generates a lot of information. Our team will summarize and share key community contributions with Champions.

What do we get?

Research insights
  • With consent, we analyse the platform usage and interactions. The good news is that we use our research insights to directly improve our facilitation approach!
Impactful educational experiences:
  • Our team members are all teachers and students in the community, improving the places where we live, work, and study.
Improving our community
  • We are committed to providing opportunities for students to grow as professionals, including students internships and assistantships.
